Mezzo- soprano, Melisa Bonetti Luna, is an avid performer on the mainstage of both contemporary and traditional work. Recent performances include the premiere of The Climate Opera Project at BAM (Brooklyn Academy of Music) with American Opera projects, Carmen in CarmXn with the Hogfish festival in which the performers and creative team collectively devised a new adaptation, an opera gala with the ISING! Festival and the Sichuan Symphony Orchestra in Chengdu (China), Maddalena in Rigoletto with Opera San Jose, and the premiere of Five Ways to Die with Experiments in Opera. Melisa is an avid performer of Spanish song repertoire singing in and programming recitals representing Latine composers of today. Melisa has performed roles and concerts as a soloist including in Bach’s Magnificat at Carnegie Hall, with the Philadelphia Orchestra in Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center and at the Kimmel Center, Zerlina in Don Giovanni with Virginia Opera, Opera Theatre Saint Louis in their New Works Collective, Nashville Opera, Des Moines Metro Opera, Wolf Trap Opera, Opera Columbus, Cincinnati Opera, the Lexington Philharmonic, the Queens Symphony Orchestra.
