Dale Travis

Bass-baritone Dale Travis has been a frequent guest artist at the most prestigious opera companies in the world including the Metropolitan Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, San Francisco Opera, Houston Grand Opera, LA Opera, Santa Fe Opera, Spoletto Festival USA, Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa, Teatro Regio in Torino, Seiji Ozawa Festival in Tokyo & Matsumoto, Capitole Opera in Toulouse, Berlin Komische Opera and the Israeli Opera. The past season he returned to the San Francisco Opera as the Marquis de la Force in Dialogues des Carmelites and was presented the Opera Medal for 34 years of exemplary artistic servitude with the company. Mr. Travis is thrilled to return to Opera San José in a role he performed some 30 years ago along with roles including Don Pasquale, Leporello, Don Alfonso and Dulcamara under General Director Irene Dalis and Music Director Barbara Day Turner.
