Sascha Joggerst
performs the role of Perichaud (La rondine) during the 2009 -
2010 season. Mr. Joggerst made his company debut as Dancaire
(Carmen) during the company's 2008 - 2009 season. His most recent
credits include the title role in Le nozze di Figaro with
Livermore Valley Opera, Schaunard (La bohème) with the
Mendocino Music Festival, Yamadori (Madama Butterfly) with West
Bay Opera, Silvio (Pagliacci) and King Melchior (Amahl and
the Night Visitors) with Townsend Opera, Schaunard (La bohème)
with Mission City Opera as well as Escamillo (Carmen) with San
Francisco Pocket Opera.
Other recent roles
include Tiger Brown (The Threepenny Opera) with Santa Cruz
Chamber Orchestra and Figaro (Le nozze di Figaro) as guest
artist with Bay Area Summer Opera Theater Institute, following his
U.S. debut as Count Almaviva (Le nozze di Figaro). Mr. Joggerst
made his West Bay Opera debut last season as Silvio in Pagliacci,
and Guglielmo in Così fan tutte.
While in London,
Mr. Joggerst sang Amantio in Gianni Schicchi under the baton of
Steuart Bedford with Royal Academy Opera as well as the roles of
Captain and Zaretsky in Eugene Onegin with Opera by Definition.
He also performed the title role of Eugene Onegin and one of
the travelers in Britten’s Curlew River with the Conservatory
of Music Lübeck.
On the concert
stage, he is a dedicated Lieder singer, most recently in London with
recitals of Schumann’s Dichterliebe and Beethoven’s An die
ferne Geliebte as well as the Christmas Oratorio (Saint-Saëns)
and
Vaughan
Williams‘ Serenade to Music with The American Philharmonic
Orchestra.
Future engagements
include the role of Frank in Die Fledermaus with Livermore
Valley Opera, Baron Duophol in La traviata with West Bay Opera
as well as Morales in Carmen with the Mendocino Music Festival.
Mr. Joggerst holds
a Postgraduate Diploma in Vocal Performance from The Royal Academy of
Music in London, as well as a Bachelor of Music from the Conservatory
of Music Lübeck. He has also been a student at the International Vocal
Arts Institute in Montreal, Canada.
